The Vigil Honor is the highest recognition within the Order of the Arrow (OA), Scouting's National Honor Society. This distinction is reserved for those members who exemplify exceptional service, personal effort, and unselfish interest in the welfare of others. Those who receive the Vigil Honor are recognized for their significant contributions to their lodge, council, Scouting, or community.
You must have been a Brotherhood member in good standing of the OA for at least two years.
Your service and contributions must distinguish you, making you worthy of this honor.
You must be nominated by your lodge, which can select up to 2% of its membership annually for this honor. At least half of those nominated should be under the age of 21.
The selection process is conducted with care, ensuring that only the most deserving individuals are recognized for this esteemed honor.
